"ESTÈRIL" presents a speculative vision of the year 2050 where biotechnology has completely monetized nature. Through BioBloom, a fictional company specialized in genetically modified plants, the project explores new forms of control exercised over life itself. The installation transforms the exhibition space into a corporate showroom that visually seduces while revealing an economic dystopia: speculative plants such as "Square Mandarins" or "Incles Strawberries", offered at exclusive prices (€45,000+) accessible only to economic elites. The impeccable corporate branding, QR codes, and premium signage create an immersive experience that questions who decides what is "natural" when everything has a price. For its exhibition, we created a debate space. The participatory element allows visitors to "plant their opinions" in a communal pot placed on a pink carpet, critically processing the implications of a future where access to nature is determined by purchasing power. The work interrogates: what happens when the promise of "cleaning" nature through genetic engineering results in its definitive sterilization and privatization?
