Letters from the Studio

I paint figures who don’t look back at you. It isn’t shyness. A gaze carries weight, and there are inner states of the human being that only reveal themselves when no one is looking directly at them.
Once a month I write from the studio: a reflection, sketches that don’t yet know what they will become, and the questions that stay with me as I paint layer upon layer. Subscribers see new work before anyone else.
